The Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at the Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine invites applications for two faculty positions in Neuroscience, an Assistant Professor position and a position that is open rank, starting in Fall 2026. While we welcome applications from all areas, we are most interested in:

  • Neural Development

  • Systems Neuroscience

  • Connectomic approaches

  • Brain interactions with internal sensory and/or immune systems, central-periphery nervous systems neuroscience


The successful applicant will synergize with our existing strengths by bringing a research program that uses cutting edge cellular and molecular technologies combined with integrative, multidisciplinary approaches to address translational neurobiological questions in animal model systems, cell culture systems, and/or human brain. Use of artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches is a plus. The successful applicant will join a strong and growing Boston University interdisciplinary neuroscience research community where departmental research programs have close interactions with neurophotonics, data sciences, bioinformatics, psychological and brain sciences, biomedical engineering, the center for systems neuroscience, and synthetic and systems biology. Boston University expects excellence in both teaching and research. Faculty responsibilities will also include teaching at the graduate level, and participation in graduate training through mentoring.
