The Department of Computer Science in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor to begin on September 1, 2026.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications
- Have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or closely related fields;
- Be able to teach undergraduate and graduate core and elective courses in Computer Science;
- Have a track record of research excellence in areas of robotics, or artificial intelligence, or quantum computing as demonstrated by publications in top venues in Computer Science and potential for obtaining competitive, external research funding;
- Be able to take service duties for the department, college, and university as needed. Service duties may include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with a research focus on one or more areas including human-robot interaction, robot vision and navigation, natural language processing, machine learning, computer vision, quantum algorithms, or quantum systems.
