Job Description
The Administrative Support Assistant serves as receptionist, welcomes visitors, answers telephones, and makes referrals to the department faculty and staff. Receives incoming mail (USPS and campus) and packages (UPS, FedEx, Freight, etc) and disperses packages to the proper individual within the department, and facilitates outbound mail and package shipments.
The Administrative Support Assistant performs clerical duties for faculty and staff such as producing flyers, meeting agendas, class hand-outs and tabulating surveys as needed. Orders supplies for individuals within the department, schedules and maintains calendar for department vehicles and other equipment, makes reservations and places orders with other university departments (Fleet Management, University Printing, etc).
This position serves as assistant to Professors by helping in preparing materials for meetings, tabulating information, and processing award materials. Oversees the scheduling and requirements of conference rooms, and coordinates department seminars by creating and disseminating flyers, ordering materials, arranging set-up, tabulating attendees and seminar evaluations while managing an established budget.
The Administrative Support Assistant prints, scans, and performs other clerical tasks, serves as backup for office operations, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: General office experience
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- The ability to organize and work on multiple projects.
- The ability to prioritize deadlines and follow up on processes.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate's Degree
